  • Event Set Up/ Cleaner - Night Shift

    Job Summary

    We are currently looking for someone to join our Deer Creek Banquet Facility as an event set up/cleaner who holds themselves to superior standards regarding customer service, guest experience and providing exceptional quality of service.

    Job Requirements:

    • Strong attention to details
    • Strong communication skills
    • Works well in a team environment
    • Must be able to work a variety of shifts (early morning, afternoon, evenings) including weekdays, weekends, and holidays

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Ensure all rooms are set-up and cleaned properly by our midnight crew before clients and guest arrive on site.
    • Make any set-up changes the client requests the day of.
    • During events perform cleaning duties including but not limited to: cleaning restrooms, sweeping and vacuuming floors, windows etc…
    • Ensure all audio-visual equipment ordered by our clients are set-up and monitored throughout the event.
    • Ensure proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers etc..
    • On a continuous basis, keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.
    • Recommend proper maintenance and repair to the management and ensure the proper housekeeping of all function space (as applicable).
    • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor

    Qualifications and Skills

    • MUST have experience with audio visual equipment in an event venue (speakers, microphones, screen and projector etc..)
    • Excellent people and communication skills.
    • Previous event/cleaning experience is an asset
    • Proven experience setting space in an event setting and demonstrated outstanding customer service.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, manage time and work well under pressure
    • Must be able to bend, climb stairs and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
    • Excellent people and communication skills.
    • Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skill, dependable, honest and reliable.
    • Ability to follow and take direction from Supervisors/Managers

    We are currently looking for someone to join our Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Team as a 1st Cook who is passionate about working in the kitchen and who holds themselves to superior standards regarding guest experience and providing exceptional quality of service. As a 1st Cook you are responsible for supporting the lead Chef de Partie and Sous Chefs in our large volume kitchen.

    Job Requirements:

    • Self-Motivated, punctual and proactive
    • Strong communication skills
    • Works independently as well as in a team environment
    • Must be able to work a variety of shifts (early morning, afternoon, evenings) including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
    • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 50lbs

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet standard and the quality set by the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef
    • Follows instructions and recommendations from immediate supervisors to complete daily tasks.
    • Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of prepared foods to ensure quality is met
    • Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of the food are at the highest level of quality at all times
    • Knowledge of all standards and policies and sets an example in these areas
    • Awareness of all menu items, their recipes and production and presentations
    • Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and report any inefficiencies
    • Follows standards for proper food handling of all food products at the proper temperature
    • Ensure effective communication between staff by maintaining a friendly working environment
    • Consults daily with Chef de Partie and Sous Chef on all daily requirements
    • Establishing and maintaining effective inter-departmental working relationships

    • 2-3 years of experience in a similar large volume kitchen
    • Food Handlers Certification
    • Formal culinary training an asset but not a requirement

  • Hospitality Supervisor

    Job Summary

    We are currently looking for someone to join our Deer Creek Banquet Facility Team, as a Hospitality Supervisor, who holds themselves to superior standards regarding customer service, guest experience and providing exceptional quality of service.

    Job Requirements:

    Responsibilities:

    • The Supervisors major role is to oversees the success of their assigned event and be the point of contact for clients.
    • This position will be required to be out on the floor majority of the time and be hands on to consistently provide personalized and quality service.
    • Lead, coach and develop the hospitality staff to allow them to provide the highest level of service.
    • Complete and review event specific administration duties, opening bar counts, floats, event checklist, table set-ups, sections, event log and closing bar counts.
    • Assist the Deer Creek Event Coordinator in executing on site ceremonies. Organizing, with the assistance of the client’s vendors, the event activities (receiving line, introductions, speeches etc..) according to the event order.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3 + years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in events, catering or banquets
    • Smart Serve Certified
    • Knowledge in event execution including, weddings, special events, corporate meetings and conferences etc.
    • Able to work independently, work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
    • Strong computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS) and audio visual skills (in house audio visual systems, speaker etc…)
    • Excellent people and communication skills.
    • Must be able to bend, climb stairs and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
    • Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skill, dependable, honest and reliable.
    • Ability to follow and take direction from Supervisors/Managers
