  • Night Supervisor, Event Set Up and Cleaning

    We are currently looking for someone to join our Deer Creek Banquet Facility Team as a Night Shift Lead, Event Set Up and Cleaning.

    Job Requirements:

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Lead the night cleaning and event set-up crew (3 - 8 staff per day).
    • Ensure the building is properly cleaned and rooms are set-up per specifications on the event orders or as given by management.
    • Perform cleaning duties including but not limited to: cleaning restrooms, sweeping and vacuuming floors, windows etc.
    • Assist in room set up as needed
    • Review weekly schedule created by the management to ensure proper coverage for both cleaning and set-up teams are maintained. Maintain staffing levels and provide monthly staff reviews to management.
    • Ensure proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers etc..
    • On a continuous basis, keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.
    • Recommend proper maintenance and repair to the management and ensure the proper housekeeping of all function space (as applicable).
    • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
    • Assist leader in ensuring team is working effectively and productively

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Two years’ experience in lead role within an event facility performing event set up and cleaning duties
    • Excellent people and communication skills. Must be proficient in English
    • Experience with audio visual equipment in an event venue (speakers, microphones, screen and projector etc..)
    • Proven experience setting space in an event setting and demonstrated outstanding customer service.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, manage time and work well under pressure
    • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time (which may include an entire shift)
    • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    This position is responsible for performing routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance. A Greenskeeper operates small hand powered equipment and performs work involving large equipment such as triplex mowers, golf carts, tractors, rotary and reel mowers. Each Greenskeeper is assigned the responsibility to maintain 27 holes of golf.

    • Waters and fertilizes greens, tees and fairways
    • Operates all equipment related to golf course maintenance in a safe and efficient manner
    • Operates diesel and gasoline powered equipment including tractors, greens and tees mowers, both riding and walking, mechanical sand rakes, fairway mowers, large rotary mowers, aerifiers, topdressers, utility vehicles, verticut units, greens rollers, sod cutter, overseeder, weed eaters and hand blowers
    • Performs basic repairs on golf course irrigation system as required
    • Performs routine golf course maintenance such as changing holes and tee blocks, repairing divots and ball marks, servicing ball washers and litter containers, bunker maintenance and maintenance of flower and shrub beds
    • Available to work long hours, weekends and during inclement weather.
    • Cleans and maintains Turf Maintenance Facility, performs routine inspections of on course washrooms
    • Makes necessary reports and interacts with the public to ensure the safe and orderly use of golf courses and provides good public relations

    Responsibilities and Duties

    This position supports the daily golf operation by assisting fellow staff members in all facets of our business.

    • Acknowledge all golfers before and after their golf rounds.
    • Responsible for ensuring the power and pull carts are in proper order.
    • Always be aware of the condition of the power carts. Report any Discrepancies.
    • Clean and wash the power carts. Ensure the bag straps are fastened when not in use.
    • Check the parking lot and area around the facility for pull and power carts as often as necessary.
    • Responsible for ensuring the spike cleaners and surrounding areas are clean.
    • Ensure the cart compound and outside areas of the building are clean and free of garbage/debris at all times.
    • Assist pro shop / inside maintenance staff on request.
    • Welcome all golfers and help them navigate throughout the facility when asked.
    • Follow health and safety policies and procedures
    • Adhere to the employment policies and procedures as laid out in the golf course employment handbook
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Basic understanding of the game of golf and related products an asset but not required
    • 1 year of experience working in a Golf Club an asset but not required
    • Good Physical Strength - Ability to stand/walk/bend/push/pull for extended periods of time.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Ability to follow and take direction from Supervisors/Managers

    This position is responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience through various points of contact, merchandising, pro shop retail sales, guest reception and overseeing golf services personnel.

    • Responsible for opening and closing of Pro Shop
    • Sell products, manage daily sales activities including reconciliations through the Point of Sale (POS) system
    • Restocking of Pro Shop products and supplies
    • Tracking of club rentals and demos
    • Stay up to date with new and changing information on all promotions and special events
    • Answering telephone and booking tee times as well as customer inquiries etc.
    • Assist with tournament organization (signage, scoring, registration etc.)
    • Maintaining a clean and professional work space/retail area including windows, dusting and vacuuming
    • Follow health and safety policies and procedures
    • Adhere to the employment policies and procedures as laid out in the golf course employment handbook

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Post Secondary degree/diploma in Professional Golf Management (PGM), Sports Management, or related discipline an asset

    Responsibilities:

    • The Supervisors major role is to oversees the success of their assigned event and be the point of contact for clients.
    • This position will be required to be out on the floor majority of the time and be hands on to consistently provide personalized and quality service.
    • Lead, coach and develop the hospitality staff to allow them to provide the highest level of service.
    • Complete and review event specific administration duties, opening bar counts, floats, event checklist, table set-ups, sections, event log and closing bar counts.
    • Assist the Deer Creek Event Coordinator in executing on site ceremonies. Organizing, with the assistance of the client’s vendors, the event activities (receiving line, introductions, speeches etc..) according to the event order.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3 + years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in events, catering or banquets
    • Smart Serve Certified
    • Knowledge in event execution including, weddings, special events, corporate meetings and conferences etc.
    • Able to work independently, work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
    • Strong computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS) and audio visual skills (in house audio visual systems, speaker etc…)
    • Excellent people and communication skills.
    • Must be able to bend, climb stairs and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
    • Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skill, dependable, honest and reliable.
    • Ability to follow and take direction from Supervisors/Managers
