Deer Creek Cares Charitable Foundation is hosting its Annual Deer Creek Cares Charity Golf Tournament benefiting The Denise House, Durham Hospice & Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health. Please read below to find out more about these amazing not-for-profit organizations.

THE DENISE HOUSE The Denise House offers a full continuum of care, from the immediate needs of women and children affected by violence to community support programs that include counselling and support for women and children who are non-shelter residents, transitional plans, safety plans and home visits. Providing support and service to 240 women and 90 children in the shelter in 2016, received over 1,300 crisis calls to support women, provided service to an additional 400 women and children through our Transitional Housing and Support and Crisis Support programs and served an additional 46 women and 80 children in our Child Witness Group program.

DURHAM HOSPICE VON Canada-Durham, Hospice Services, a registered charitable and not-for-profit organization, effectively provides compassionate and timely comfort, care and hope to individuals and caregivers touched by end-of-life issues. VON Canada-Durham, Hospice Services’ core programs include palliative, bereavement and educational services throughout the Durham Region. Our programs are delivered by a team of approximately 10 staff and over 200 highly skilled and trained volunteers. Each year, VON Canada-Durham, Hospice Services touch the lives of over 800 individuals through physical, emotional, social and practical support.

ONTARIO SHORES FOUNDATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH 1 in 5 Canadians will experience mental illness severe enough to affect their daily activities; at work and at home and the majority of others will be affected by the mental illness of someone close to them. Every mind matters, and with your support, Ontario Shores will raise more awareness about available mental health services and help individuals living with mental illness access care in a safe, healing and supportive environment. The journey of recovery from mental illness is one that is shared by patients, family, friends, community members, caregivers and generous donors like you.

We are reaching out to our community to help each of these charities in Durham Region prosper. You can help by joining us on Thursday, August 10th as we tee off to support these wonderful charitable organizations in our community.
